The freighter from Amsterdam airport to Jeddah of the fifth of February was carrying nothing more than Lift Freight Services cargo.
For one of our valued clients we had the honor to move a 134 m3 shipment with computer equipment to Dubai World Central. At first the shipment was delivered to the ground handler and booked by another forwarder, but they were unable to move the shipment due to irregularities in the issued transport documents.
The last few months several – if not all – airlines and forwarders at Schiphol Airport are coping with limited and reduced capacity, due to the withdrawal of landing slots of several cargo-operators. An overflow of cargo and lack of capacity is putting all parties involved under tremendous pressure, causing a serious bottleneck at the airport. Last Thursday Schiphol and the KLM came with a proposal to give cargo-operators more time and space. Will this be the solution and end to our problems?
